The idea of this artwork came to me under rather routine daily circumstances. I was returning home (as I do every day) passing a park with a small lake in it. After walking for some time, I realized that something was different… It was a first time that I noticed a fisherman sitting behind a tree in front of water (the lake is really small and no one is fishing there, I am not even sure if there’s any fish there). The fisherman looked so organic in that landscape that walking just a few meters near him I did not notice him. He was part of the environment, like he’s been there forever. As soon as I got home, I immediately started transferring this story into canvas. It was important for me not to separate a person from the nature. Rather to the contrary, I aimed to show that a human being is indeed an organic part of the nature… of the environment. The artwork is ready to hang. The artwork will be shipped securely packed in a box. Certificate of Authenticity is included.

Art, to me, is a profound exploration of the world that surrounds us - a journey of discovery, experience, and self-understanding. It is a medium through which I unravel the essence of things - their colors, forms, and the interplay between them. I believe in the power of simplicity, in the art of removing the excess and uncovering the necessary, much like a sculptor chisels away at stone. In my paintings, I strive to distill forms to their purest essence, reaching a point where nothing else can be removed without sacrificing meaning. The "necessary" elements, as I perceive them, remain, serving as conduits for my impressions and self-reflections on the subject at hand. My aim is not to depict something specific but rather to transfer the emotions and thoughts evoked by the object onto the canvas. I seek artistic forms that can boldly and vividly capture the essence of these feelings, rather than mere visual representation. In this pursuit, my work often exists on the precipice between figurative and abstract art - place where emotions take precedence over strict visual interpretation. Through my art, I invite viewers to embark on their own contemplative journeys, to interpret the subtleties and engage with the interplay of emotions and forms. Each brushstroke carries the weight of my perceptions, inviting you to join me in this exploration of the human experience. zakhar@klossart.com
