Acrylic Paint on canvas, stretched and ready to hang Signed on the front No.11, from the series of fifteen diptych, triptych and poliptych paintings called ' Pandora's Box ' . Painted in Europe in July and August 2018 for my show in Rijeka, Croatia in early September. Mostly watercolours on paper and few acrylics on canvas. This painting is a polyptych of four 1 x 1 m stretched canvases assembled together into large 2 x 2 m painting. Each individual canvas is 1 x 1 m in size. Frame stretcher size is 1000 x 45 x 20 mm. Overall size of the artwork, when assembled together is 2 x 2 m. I have entered 1 x 1 m as a size of Artwork because that is how it will be posted. Metal plates and screws will be added to a package, so four canvases can be assembled in matter of minutes. "D" rings and string will be supplied too. Paints used: Matisse Structure Acrylics. Inspiration for the series and name 'Pandora ' was taken from the story of Pandora's Box in Greek mythology. Pandora was created as a punishment to the mankind although she was more a metaphor than a real person. The main purpose of the myth of Pandora was to answer the question of why evil exists in the world and it was catching the imagination of many artists for centuries.

Born in Croatia in 1958, Tony Belobrajdic is a Sydney based figurative artist. He started exhibiting in the late seventies and had his first solo show in 1983 in Croatia. Tony moved to New York in 1987 where he continued his art practice. He exhibits both in Sydney and Europe regularly. Acrylics, watercolours and oils have been the mediums of choice. Etchings is the latest medium being explored and studied with a great passion. His style could be described as contemporary impressionism, mostly portraits and figures. Tony's artwork demonstrates distinct freedom using spontaneous brushstrokes and vivid colours. He combines layered figuration of human forms put in abstract situations.
