About The Artwork
Complementary colors, lines, and shape are the foundation of this piece with its pink monolith that’s surrounded by playful red circles with white dots. Pinks is warm, and playful, and draws the eye around the piece. This is painted on what I call Wine Paper (the paperboard used in cases of wine). I used this for its ability to hold a great deal of paint, its texture, and to reduce what I send to the landfill. Upcycled art has many appearances and I want this Wine Paper collection to demonstrate the possibilities of using alternative mediums and styles. Additionally, I have placed this piece in a refurbished wooden frame. The original is gel stick, ink, acrylic marker, and marker on paperboard.
