About The Artwork
My subject is an antiquated rock wall in the English countryside. I was first attracted by robust red-brown hues. Then, while planning, I admired its masonry skill, how well their courses joined and fit. This painting is brightened by the lightness of the sky and hearty stonework tints. The wall’s solidity and a hill and pasture view through the gate lends it a peaceful rural attitude.
