Seagulls; acrylic on canvas; 2020 year; 19.685 x 27.5591 inches; 50 x 70 centimeters I love spending my weekend at the beach! The mighty power of the ocean! Wind and water! Sun and sand! Simple delights! Once I fed the seagulls with pizza, and then they chased me until I ran into the water. It was fun :) These birds are very interesting! They are instantly collectively organized into groups. They understand each other without words. This was especially noticeable when one group of seagulls decided to fight with another. They lined up in the sand like soldiers. Another group of birds was in the water as a fleet and a third in the sky as planes. One pair of seagulls fought and the rest watched the process. In the same city with us, in parallel, there can be a completely different life! Other birds or people! It was this thought that inspired me to create this artwork. This is its philosophical significance. But only one of them. Video about art https://youtu.be/NTNNa_YDykU The artwork is ready to hang on your wall. At home or in the office. In a beach house or skyscraper. Your choice :)

Artistic Statement I paint large scale contemporary pieces, up to three meters, that combine Expressionism and Abstract Expressionism. Also my artworks are land or seascapes and figurative art. The mix of styles creates is a dialogue between interior emotions and the outside environment. I like to think that all my art comes from a place of optimism and a celebration of life. I believe that the art and objects that we surround ourselves with can motivate people and infuse our lives with positive energy. I have always maintained, and tell my art students, that good art requires steady and constant effort and practice, so I make sure I paint every day. I am also constantly looking for ways to add new elements, stylistically and conceptually, to my work. Bio Aleksandra Cherepanova based in New York, but was born, grew up and was educated in Moscow, Russia. She earned her MFA in painting in 2007 from University Natalia Nesterova in Moscow and relocated to the US in 2020. Over the past decade Aleksandra had solo shows and participated extensively in group shows in NYC as well the US, Europe and Asia. Over this time, she has received Jury Prizes in many competitions as well as serving as judge for several exhibitions. Aleksandra’s work is also in museums and private collections around the world. Aleksandra now works mainly painting large scale abstract and semi-representational pieces. Additionally, she has an ongoing video series interviewing local NYC artists on YouTube.
