I enjoy strolling down one particular alley, which is very close to my home. It’s a way to avoid the noisy, always-crowded street parallel to it; it’s unusual and interesting architecturally; and, best of all, the quality of light and shadows are always dramatic. Has any other artist ever had an alley as a muse? My Artistic Inspiration— I’m a cityscape oil painter passionate about bright colors and deep contrast. My inspirations are the fluid light, dramatic vistas, quiet neighborhoods and stark landscapes of California and the Southwest. I paint with a vibrant palette and expressive brushstrokes to share my vision of an essence of the urban experience.
