About The Artwork
The style of this piece was a study of Claude Monet's work, with an emphasis on bluer tones. Blue has a duality to it; it can represent sadness or calm. In this case, I utilized blue to unify the undertones emerging from the other pieces, including the wall. Using green for the underpainting pulled the violets closer to blue, and helped mute the red a bit.
