About The Artwork

Spectra Seuss is a dog I saw a photo of and just HAD to paint, I mean, just look at her! Wow. Monster beastie who has 'tude and is yet so adorable you just can't help but stare. I used a split-complimentary color scheme of orange, yellow, and blue-violet, mainly because these were the colors that came to mind when I thought of naming the piece "Seuss." The couch I didn't make up, it was actually included in the photo and was magnificent, lending this entire work a grungy texture and a sophisticated feel. I creat my pieces with the best acrylic paints and coat them in a non-yellowing, UV protective fixative lacquer to ensure years of vibrancy to come.

Message me for details. I use bright colors because I study life and life, when you really think about it, is not subtle. I enjoy studying the intricacies of the way light plays on a subject, where it bounces directly, where it reflects, and work to freely express those discoveries. I believe that art is an expression of one's soul. The idea that something I created called to another person is incredible. Thinking about having pieces of my work, my life, my very essence, out and about around the world, makes me giddy. My favorite quote of all time is Leonardo da Vinci's "Learn how to SEE. Realize that everything is connected to everything else." It's this connection that I'm forever contemplating and exploring.
