About The Artwork
This painting was not inspired by any particular event. The truth of the matter is I saw a broken tile on the floor and really liked the composition it formed. Inspired, I drew the shapes on to a canvas with a yellow ground and then filled them with different colors. An interesting scene soon emerged with various figurative elements. I continued refining the scene by playing with color, contrast, and shape boundaries until it felt like the picture was complete.
