The painting depicts the Boulevard Motel neon signage which is a classic mid century modern style with primary color fields for the different areas of the sign. The Florida sun played a roll in weathered areas of it creating interesting textures. Watercolor is a perfect medium for these signage pop culture images. I can create strong light and shadow giving it that pop of photorealism and dimension.
