About The Artwork
Drawing directly onto the etching plate I wanted to capture 'Rye Lane' in Peckham. Sometimes it can feel more like how I imagine cities in parts of Africa are, so many different nationalities here, markets, dialects, loud conversations, gospel music and brightly colored clothing and fruits. I used to live here in 2008 and it has already changed so much so I thought it would be good to capture it in an etching.
