Blake Peterson is an interdisciplinary artist with a printmaking focus. He earned his MFA from the Glasgow School of Art in June of 2012. Blake's body of work, including print media and digital video has been featured in several group exhibitions across the United States, the UK, and Europe. In 2011, one of his lithographs was selected for the GSA's permanent collection of prints. Much of Blake's work is also collaborative. He regularly works with fellow artist and printmaker, Zoe Phillips. Zoe earned her BFA in Printmaking from the University of Iowa in 2010, and is now completing her MFA in Printmaking from SFAI. Their collaborative work has been featured in several exhibitions, including their digital video work "Lost Sheep In Glasgow" for the 2011 Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art. Also while earning his MFA, Blake acted as a Teaching Assistant for the First Year Painting & Printmaking course at the Glasgow School of Art. He provided constructive criticism, sat in on group critiques, and gave printmaking demonstrations and assistance. In 2005, Blake earned his BA in Psychology from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He later acquired a Postgraduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship from the University of Iowa. While at the University of Iowa, Blake began extensive study into printmaking. He also acted as an assistant in the lithography studio, and aided in the production of prints for visiting artists. Additionally in Iowa City, he formed the arts-based business, the Grocery. This organization produced prints, books, and functional artwork such as scarves.
