'Nightswimmers' Print - Limited Edition of 13

I am a painter and printmaker based in the UK My work is concerned with how I can make abstract images that possess an emotional resonance, physicality and atmosphere similar to that which is traditionally expressed through representational art, but without being restricted by the specifics of person or place. I combine memories of places and objects and the vagaries of the creative process to derive a visual language that feels vital, and real. Tactility is an important part of my work as it encourages a connection between myself and the work during its' making. An ideal end to the process is one where it feels as though there is no distance left between myself and the final image. Art for me is an attempt to forge a connection with the world that would otherwise be absent.
