About The Artwork
The women I have seen in China paddling boats along the river. Incorporated the form of a weaving shuttle from a Chinese loom to make the loom and then extend the arms into paddles to produce a simplified figure. I worked first in wax and then cast into bronze which enables the slender forms and the simplified forms.
