Materials - Earthenware, wheel thrown and hand built, scraffito, inlay, transparent and opaque glaze, platinum lustre, metal wire, transfers. 'Screaming Banshee' is a hand built, wheel thrown and assembled ceramic sculpture with a torso / body shape. The fire hydrant like arms have a defunct appearance. Molten blobs (platinum) hang from metal wires. The body and head 'wired'. Multi-layered imagery, scrawled writing and print deal with the mass information society we live in and how we decipher and process the flood of code. The child-like face inlayed in the centre of the torso has a gapping mouth full of platinum fillings munching through the surrounding information. The eyes are crossed, blind to the processing of data and binge digestion. Earth, air, water, fire are the four elements (everything in life) for a ceramist to combat and deal with. These four key elements are completed with multi layered imagery continuing the 'everything' involved in each piece.
